SOCIOLOGY: KNOWLEDGE FOR OPEN AND INCLUSIVE SOCIETIES (OpenSoc) is an inter-university PhD programme, which mobilises the theoretical, methodological and empirical heritage accumulated in the history of sociology, and its broad interdisciplinary connections, to forge new orientations of research and intervention in the face of contemporary social challenges.
The programme results from the association between Nova University of Lisbon (NOVA FCSH), University of Lisbon (ICS - Institute of Social Sciences, ISCSP - Institute of Social and Political Sciences and ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics and Management), University of Évora (Institute for Advanced Studies and Research) and the University of Algarve (Faculty of Economics), which jointly award a PhD degree in Sociology.
